From Chairman MacKendrick
Frank Sullivan spoke with the Fire Chief today to confirm that they are monitoring the blasting activity.
They receive the reports on each blast including the seismology reports.
The Chief says that the blasts are very deep hence the vibrations seem to travel further through the bedrock.
He noted that the warnings could be better but he has no control over that. They are apparently in compliance with regulations.
We are now being told that we have to file a request for the Notice of Violation under the public records act. Why it has taken this long to tell us this was not included in the note.
Amazing that a state senator office or the chairman of the Board of Selectman could not secure this or tell us in the past few weeks.
After receiving updates when we requested on the lights and street striping, Joe and I then tried to find out the following:1. Has a notice of violation been issued by MA Highway for the 300 feet of trees being removed and
2. What will be the process for fixing the tree removal
Approximately a month ago, we were told the notice was being sent out and we requested a copy from:
1. MA Highway
2. Senator Clarks office
3. Chairman MacKendrick of the Lynnfield Board of Selectmen, even though the town has said they will have nothing to do with this.
In the past 4 weeks, we have requested updates and we all have told us they will look into it.
We are at a loss to understand why someone can’t fax us a copy of the notice and help us understand the process for resolving it.
Today we did receive the name of the MA Highway person in charge of District 4 and will be following up with them.
If you have any questions or thoughts on next steps please get in touch.
