Eight weeks from tonight is Town Meeting at the Middle School at 7:30. Hopefully before then National Developement will honor the original agreement and not have an article asking for a multiplex.

Email correction

March 2, 2013

One alert reader (Sydney) sent me a note with a correction. In 2007 the vote to rezone the development took place without a theater / cinema. Corrected statement is now on Facebook and the blog.

Revised statement #1

1. The fact that you have committed to upholding your promises is very good news to the 81% of town residents at the town meeting that voted to rezone the development without a movie theater. We look forward to having the discussion of a movie theater to end.

Thank you,

MarketStreet on Facebook speaks of promises

March 2, 2013

MarketStreet has a facebook page and I have been following it. On Friday they posted the following:

“The MarketStreet Development Team has already completed over $6 million in roadway improvements. And we are dedicated to continuing to uphold our promises!”

Today I responded and I would suggest people go to the site today as they may delete it.

In case they have you can see original and my post at www.topics01940.org

If you cannot download or read it, please send a note to info and we will send the pdf to you.

This what I posted.

A couple of points.

1. The fact that you have committed to upholding your promises is very good news to the 81% of town residents at the town meeting that voted to rezone the development without a movie theater. We look forward to having the discussion of a movie theater to end.

2. A point of clarification on the six million in roadway improvements. The developers were going to spend the six million dollars for the improvements but Federal Stimulus money saved them spending that money. See the following sources:
